Supported Return to Training

Trainees may take time out of training for several different reasons and for varying lengths of time. Health Education England understands that regardless of the reason, returning to training can be a difficult and stressful time for a trainee. If this is you, be reassured that you are not on your own; Health Education England and your SuppoRTT team are here to help.

HEE have created a short animated guide to SuppoRTT which can be viewed here.

Did you know that there is a regional Supported Return to Training Guidance document? If you have been absent for a period of 3 months or over, it is strongly recommended that you follow it. It has been designed to be flexible and to consider the differing nature and length of absence, as well as the specialty and stage of your training. This will help to ensure that you can safely return and practise within your training programme.

Our regional SuppoRTT programme includes enhanced supervision, clinical simulation days, mentorship and coaching, resilience training, practical advice and sign posting.

If you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact the SuppoRTT team, via email at supportt.sw@hee.nhs.uk
