Dual training is available in a limited number of specialties.
At present the school supports dual training in:
General Adult and Old Age Psychiatry
- Particularly suitable for trainees interested in working in ageless services such as Crisis and Home Treatment or Liaison services.
Medical Psychotherapy and General Adult Psychiatry
- Particularly suitable for trainees who want to maintain an active dialogue between Medical Psychotherapy and General Adult psychiatry, and practice in Medical Psychotherapy within a more general adult setting or maintain a role in both subspecialties.
There are no plans at present to offer dual training in other specialties.
For trainees interested in a career in other areas such as CAMHS LD, training in one of these specialties is sufficiently flexible for trainees to equip themselves with the competencies required for a consultant post.
